Rotate the whole document at once with Rotate all, or click the ⟳ on individual page thumbnails to fix just the pages that need it. Text stays selectable, images stay sharp.

How to rotate PDF pages online for free

The page rotator fixes PDFs that have sideways or upside-down pages — the common result of scanning documents in a hurry, with the page physically rotated inside the scanner, or merging pages from sources that had mixed orientations. Drop your PDF into the dropzone above. The rotator renders a thumbnail of every page. Click the ⟳ on individual pages to rotate them 90 degrees; click it twice more for 180 and 270. Use the Rotate all left / Rotate all right buttons to rotate the whole document at once. When every page is the right way up, click Save rotated PDF to download the corrected file.

How does rotation work without re-encoding?

The rotator only updates the rotation flag stored inside each page of the PDF — the actual page content (images, text, vector drawings) is not touched at all. That is why the result has the exact same file size as the input in most cases, with identical image quality and identical selectable text. Compared to the alternative — re-rendering every page to an image and re-embedding it — this approach is instant, lossless, and preserves accessibility features like text-to-speech. It works for every well-formed PDF, including scanned documents, image-only PDFs, and PDFs with embedded fonts.

Why rotate in the browser instead of an upload-based tool?

Most online PDF rotators work by uploading your file to a remote server, processing it, and sending you back the result. That is fine for a non-sensitive document but the wrong choice for anything private — contracts, medical records, tax forms, financial statements, HR paperwork. RasonaX PDF Toolkit runs entirely in your browser tab. The file is read into your device's memory, processed locally by the pdf-lib library, and the result is saved straight to your downloads. Nothing is transmitted to any server at any point.

Tips for handling mixed-orientation scans

If every page in a scanned document is rotated the same way (the entire stack came out sideways), use the Rotate all right button — one click, done. If only some pages are off (the usual case for a mixed batch of scans), use the per-page ⟳ button on just those pages; the thumbnail updates live so you can see the orientation change before saving. Each click on a page's ⟳ adds 90 degrees, so a page that is 180 off needs two clicks. The little badge on each thumbnail shows the current rotation so you can confirm your changes before saving.

What if the page is still the wrong size after rotating?

Rotation only changes the orientation flag, not the page dimensions. If your PDF was created from landscape scans and now looks oddly cropped on portrait displays, the fix is different — you would need to re-export the PDF from the source, or convert it through the image to PDF tool with a custom page size. For the very common case of fixing just the orientation flag (90, 180, 270 degrees), this tool is the right fit and produces an instantly downloadable, perfectly clean result.

Pair the rotator with the rest of RasonaX PDF Toolkit

Rotating often pairs with splitting — rotate a few specific pages, then pull them out into a new file. You may also want to compress the result if it will be emailed, pull embedded images out of one of the rotated pages, or convert the text into an editable Word document. All eight RasonaX PDF Toolkit tools share the same in-browser pipeline, so you can move between them without re-uploading anything. For marking up a draft, edit a PDF in place before sending it on.

Common questions

Quick answers

No. Every tool on this page uses JavaScript libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js) that run locally in your browser tab. Your file is read into your device's memory to do the work, and nothing is sent to a server.
There's no artificial limit set by us, but because processing happens on your device, very large files (typically several hundred MB) may run slowly or use a lot of memory depending on your browser and hardware.
No. We have no server component that stores your files. Closing or refreshing the tab clears everything from memory. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
